Mark Hughes set to be named QPR boss in next 48 hours
MARK Hughes is set to be confirmed as the new QPR boss in the next 48 hours.
Rangers are hoping to make a swift appointment following the dismissal of Neil Warnock yesterday, with chief executive Phil Beard confident a replacement will be in the hotseat before Sunday's trip to Newcastle.
Hughes has been out of work since walking out on Fulham last year, but is keen to get back into management.
The Welshman was linked with the post at Sunderland following Steve Bruce's sacking, only for Martin O'Neill to get the job instead.
However, the former Blackburn and Manchester City boss is the bookmaker's favourite for the job at Loftus Road, and the Chronicle understands the 48-year-old will be confirmed as Warnock's successor in the next couple of days.
