Mahon unhappy with Dowie at QPR
Another quality piece from SIT DOWN SHUT UP: Big bald playmaker Gav Mahon is unhappy with big ugly manager Iain Dowie. And in my opinion he has a point and every right to be upset. In the space of the past two games the former Watford skipper has gone from leading the team as captain to being dumped to the bench in a 3-0 defeat. Pretty harsh and unsettling for one of the more vocal members of the Loftus Road dressing room. "The gaffer pulled me to one side and told me I was the best player against Barnsley," explained Mahon to Eurosport earlier, once they'd sorted out the "glare issues" involved in getting someone that bald on film. "But he said he was going to keep the same midfield ," he continued. "He wanted to keep the same system and pass United off the park. I wasn't happy: one minute I'm captain on the opening day and then I'm dropped. But that's football." Oh dear. And the passing them off the park tactic didn't work either. Surely that's showing a huge disrespect to a side as quality as Sheffield United. Especially away from home. "He's a top, top coach," Mahon continued, presumably not wanting to sit back on the bench this weekend when Mahon's spaghetti hoops meet Donny. "As a bloke and as a coach he is great for this football club, and will prove that given time." A good point. But deep down I still wonder if Dowie will be given that time...
