Mahon linked with QPR switch
GAVIN MAHON has been linked with a move to Queens Park Rangers after being left out of the Watford squad to face Colchester on Tuesday.
The captain has been told by manager Aidy Boothroyd he will not be offered a new contract leaving Mahon to contemplate the possibility of leaving the club before his current deal runs out in the summer.
QPR have been linked with a £150,000 move for the midfielder while Wycombe are also thought to be monitoring events.
"Gav has played a lot of games for us and he is 30-years of age plus now," said Boothroyd. "The other lads are younger and I just felt it was right to leave him out for the Colchester game. He reacted well, as you would expect from a total professional who has done well for this club and is the club captain."
