Mahon excited by future
GAVIN Mahon says the future is bright at QPR after impressing in their defeat at Chelsea.
The former Watford skipper made his first start for Rangers in the FA Cup game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
And the 31-year-old felt there was little to choose between the two West London clubs over the 90 minutes.
Mahon said: "The board want to take this club forward and not just sit still in the Championship.
"We are not getting carried away but if we play like that then the future looks bright for us.
"We were always in the game but it just wasn't meant to be. Even after we went behind we just tried to forget about it and we carried on playing."
The midfielder reserved praise for the 6,000 QPR fans whose noise completely drowned out the home support.
