Madagascar appoint new coach
Former France-based defender Herve Arsene has been named as the new coach of Madagascar.
The 43-year-old takes over from French coach Jean Paul Rossignol, who was fired earlier this month.
Rossignol was sacked after Madagascar lost 3-0 to the Ivory Coast in a Nations Cup qualifier last month.
Earlier this year the Malagasy-born Arsene served as an assistant to Rossignol.
Arsene's appointment comes a week before Madagascar compete in the Cosafa Cup mini tournament in Mozambique, where they have a semi-final match against Zimbabwe on 28 April.
He played over 200 matches for Racing Lens in Ligue 1 after being signed from a club on the French Indian Ocean island of Reunion.
