Mackie set for pre-season
Scotland striker Jamie Mackie is regarding Queens Park Rangers' pre-season trips as an ideal opportunity for the newly promoted team to bond.
The 25-year-old will be part of a squad heading to the West Country and Italy ahead of their first Premier League season for 15 years.
And Mackie, who scored nine goals last season following his move from Plymouth, believes the training camps will prepare the Rs for the demanding but exciting challenges that lie ahead.
"There will be a few new faces I am sure and it will be the ideal opportunity for them to settle in."
Mackie told the club's official website: "All the lads will be looking forward to it. We had a great time on both trips last year and really bonded as a group.
"It is a great time for us to all get together again. There will be a few new faces I am sure and it will be the ideal opportunity for them to settle in."
Promotion
After returning from a July break, QPR face fixtures against Tavistock, Plymouth Argyle and Bodmin Town before heading to the Mediterranean resort of Milano Marittima for a further two games.
And following the West London club's promotion as Championship winners, manager Neil Warnock will be looking to strengthen his squad before the start of the new season.
Reported targets include Blackpool striker DJ Campbell and Peterborough frontman Craig Mackail-Smith.
