Lotto chief hails Briatore ambition
Lotto President Andrea Tomat has hailed the deal the Italian firm have signed with QPR as "something special".
Rangers signed a deal on Tuesday with Lotto that could be worth £20m over five years should they gain promotion to the Premier League.
In explaining the reasoning behind the deal Tomat also revealed the influence of QPR Holdings chairman and co-owner Flavio Briatore.
"We have known Flavio for a long time and he played an important role," Tomat told QPR's official website. "We both share the view of wanting to create something special.
"When we learned there was this opportunity we were very happy to become involved, and it is based on Flavio Briatore's plan to move the club up into the Premier League."
