Loan Ranger on a mission
Chelsea's Israeli striker Ben Sahar has vowed to do all he can to help beat Russia this weekend so England can qualify for Euro 2008. The 18-year-old starlet, who is currently away from Stamford Bridge on a loan deal at Championship side QPR, will be in the Israel squad which will face the Russians in Tel Aviv on Saturday evening knowing anything less than a defeat could help Steve McClaren's Three Lions in their quest to play in Austria and Switzerland next summer. Many England fans feel Russia will win and then join group leaders Croatia in the finals with a certain three-point haul in Andorra on Wednesday. However, Sahar is confident the Israel side can come up trumps and get the right result as far as England are concerned. He told the Daily Telegraph: "At home we have a very good record, I think we'll win this game - hopefully - because we're a good team. "I want to see them there, but first I want to win for Israel. It's our job, we have to win; if it's good for England, it's better. We want to win this game as much as the English want us to win." Sahar has also heard fellow Israeli international and Blues team-mate Tal Ben Haim has been promised a holiday by Joe Cole if they do England a favour and is hopeful of getting in on that deal. "If we win this game, maybe I will ask some of them , a few mates from Chelsea say all the time we must win this game. I know how important it is for England," he added.
