Liverpool fans begin final frenzy
Liverpool supporters have started the scramble to be in Turkey for the Champions League final. Fans have clogged websites and travel firms for flights and accommodation for the match against AC Milan at the Ataturk stadium in Istanbul on 25 May. Each club will receive 20,000 tickets, with 100,000 hotel rooms in the city already snapped up by travel agents. And return flights to Istanbul on and around the date of the final are hitting the £600 mark. There are about 69,500 tickets available in all and demand is already exceeding supply. Uefa has closed applications for the 7,500 tickets it is selling on its website and they will inform the those who have or have not got a ticket on Friday, 6 May. TICKET ALLOCATION Liverpool: 20,000 AC Milan: 20,000 Uefa website: 7,500 Turkish FA: 7,500 Uefa football family: 7,500 TOTAL: 69,500 Both clubs are set to reveal the procedure for allocating the tickets and Liverpool said on their website: "Selling criteria will be based on attendance criteria in previous rounds." The Turkish Football Association has 7,500 tickets at its disposal for fans from the host country which could results in supporters going to Istanbul hoping to purchase on the black market. Uefa is to distribute 14,500 tickets to its European football family for what is expected to be Turkey's biggest sporting event. Turkish authorities are confident of staging such a huge event after success with the Eurovision song contest in 2004 and the Nato summit.

Liverpool to wear red in Istanbul
Eh, Eh, carm dowan ther soft lad, eh, therdodothatthoughdonttheythough exaaaacctleeey    Liverpool will wear their traditional red home kit for the Champions League final against AC Milan on 25 May. Milan were due to wear their usual red and black stripes after being drawn as the 'home' team. But the two clubs have agreed that the Italians will play in white - which they wore while beating Juventus to claim the Champions League in 2003. Liverpool's four previous European Cup victories have come while wearing red against teams playing in white.
