Culverhouse leaves Brisbane Road Leyton Orient have parted company with assistant manager Ian Culverhouse, as boss Martin Ling rings the changes. Dean Smith steps up from youth team manager to replace Culverhouse, who had been at the club since January 2003. Fitness coach Colin Reitz and physio Jack Demetriou are also leaving after not having their contracts renewed. Ling has released three players - Mark Peters, Lee Harrison and Tom Youngs - but agreed deals with Justin Miller, Daryl McMahon and Donny Barnard.

Orient sign Shakers keeper Garner
Leyton Orient have signed goalkeeper Glyn Garner on a two-year contract, after he rejected the offer of a new deal at League Two rivals Bury. Garner, 28, replaces Lee Harrison, who was released by the O's last week. Boss Martin Ling told Orient's website: "I'm pleased to seal such an important signing so early in the close season. "The fact that Bury offered him a new deal shows the value they put on him and I'm glad we've been able to put together a package to entice him."

Cambridge's Tudor opts for Orient
Winger Shane Tudor has signed a two-year contract with Leyton Orient. The 23-year-old chose Brisbane Road over a host of other clubs having previously announced he would leave Cambridge, irrespective of relegation. "He's a player I've been tracking for quite a while so I'm pleased he's decided to sign for us," manager Martin Ling told the club's website. "Shane can play on the right or left wings and carries the ball forward and comfortably with pace."

Peterborough sign keeper Harrison
New Peterborough boss Mark Wright has made former Leyton Orient goalkeeper Lee Harrison his first signing since taking over at London Road. Harrison, 33, has agreed a 12-month deal and will compete with Mark Tyler for the number-one slot. "We need competition in every position and I have started with the keepers," Wright told his club's website. Harrison previously spent a spell on loan at Peterborough, playing 12 games during the 2002/03 season.

Benefit game arranged for Scott
Leyton Orient will travel to play Sutton United on 16 July in a benefit match for Andy Scott. The former striker, 32, was playing for the Brisbane Road club when he was forced to retire from the game in April due to a serious heart condition. Scott began his career in Sutton's youth team and played 80 senior games before moving to Sheffield United, Chesterfield, Brentford and Oxford. The game will kick off at 1500 BST at Gander Green Lane. Sutton will also entertain a Charlton Athletic XI in a friendly on Saturday 30 July.

Orient snap up midfielder Keith
Former Colchester midfielder Joe Keith has joined Leyton Orient after rejecting the a move to Bournemouth. The 26-year-old was offered a contract by Cherries boss Sean O'Driscoll after being released by the U's. "I'm a local boy and this is a club whose fortunes I've always followed," he told Orient's website. "The gaffer really sold the club to me and now I've got the chance to help make a difference myself by helping them get promoted." Keith scored 28 goals in 247 league and cup appearances for Colchester. He also spent the end of last season on loan at Bristol City.

Bury poised to snap up O's Youngs
Bury are set to sign former Leyton Orient striker Tom Youngs after missing out on a move for Matthew Tipton. The 25-year-old has agreed terms with the Shakers and will put pen-to-paper on a contract when he reports for pre-season training on 4 July. Youngs was released by Orient at the end of last season after spending four months at Brisbane Road. The striker previously spent a lengthy spell at Cambridge United before moving on to Northampton.

Dolan set to start afresh at O's
Leyton Orient boss Martin Ling has made former Millwall defender Joe Dolan his fourth new signing of the summer. The 25-year-old central defender has signed a 12-month deal with the option of a further year's stay. "Joe's ready to get his career going again. He's proven he's over his injury problems," Ling told the O's website. Dolan made just 60 first-team starts in seven years at Millwall but played on loan at Brighton, Stockport and Crawley Town last season.

Ling hails thumping win for O's
Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling was satisfied with his side's performance in their 6-1 friendly victory over Cirencester Town on Saturday. Efe Echanomi hit a first-half hat-trick and Daryl McMahon, Aiden Palmer and Gary Alexander were also on target. "It worked well as an exercise," Orient boss Martin Ling said. "After only five days training I was happy with how everyone performed. There were some rough edges but it was a good workout."

Easton completes move to Orient
Leyton Orient have signed former Livingston and Dundee United midfielder Craig Easton. The 26-year-old spent time training with Martin Ling's squad before completing his move to Brisbane Road on a two-year deal. "He's got a wealth of experience and was strongly recommended to me. He is a player who should shine in League Two," Ling told his club's website. Easton was released by Livingston at the end of last season. He has started almost 200 league games in Scotland but only spent 12 months at Almondvale.

Ling is thrilled to top the table
Manager Martin Ling admitted "it feels great" after Leyton Orient's 1-0 win at Darlington left them on top of League Two with three wins from three games. "It's a difficult place to come and get a result, but I felt we were in control," Ling affirmed. "The five at the back have only let in two goals, but they know if the midfield four aren't doing the workload they won't be successful. "But we can't get carried away - there are another 43 games left."

Luton eased into the Carling Cup second round with a comfortable victory. Defender Chris Coyne made the breakthrough for Luton in first-half injury time with a clever lob. Luton doubled their lead after 71 minutes when Enoch Showunmi capitalised on goalkeeper Glyn Garner's poor clearance to set up Warren Feeney. Colin McMenamin scored the only goal as Shrewsbury won away for the first time this season. McMenamin converted from the penalty spot after just three minutes following a rash challenge by defender John Mackie on Dave Edwards. Orient pushed for an equaliser and Jamie Tolley made a goal-line clearance to keep the Shrews in front. Gary Alexander scored twice as Leyton Orient came from behind to win. Giuliano Grazioli scored for Barnet after 19 seconds, tapping into an empty net after a cross from Dean Sinclair. Jabo Ibehre equalised just before the break after poor defending and later passed for Alexander to slip the ball past Ross Flitney. Leyton Orient 2-1 Torquay
Jabo Ibehre and Gary Alexander scored the goals which earned Leyton Orient their second home win of the season. Glyn Garner hit the post for Torquay early on before Orient's Ibehre opened the scoring on 25 minutes. Andy Marriott saved after Ibehre's fine 29th-minute run, but Orient went two ahead four minutes after the break as Shane Tudor put Alexander clear.
