Orient put seal on Ashworth deal
Leyton Orient have completed the signing of Wigan defender Luke Ashworth on a free transfer.
The 19-year-old, who impressed for the O's during a two-month loan spell earlier this season, has agreed a two-and-a-half year contract.
Orient boss Martin Ling told his club's website: "Luke has joined us on a long-term contract and I am delighted to bring him back to Brisbane Road.
"He did very well during his time with us on loan. He's one for the future."
Nugent cool on Boyd exit rumours
Leyton Orient caretaker manager Kevin Nugent has played down stories suggesting striker Adam Boyd could leave in the January transfer window.
Orient's 12-goal top scorer has been linked with a move back to Hartlepool, the club where he began his career.
But Nugent told London 94.9: "If I'm totally honest I don't read press and I certainly don't go on websites.
"I've read somewhere that Hartlepool have made a bid but I've not spoken to anyone about that either."
Boyd, who joined the O's from Luton in the summer of 2007, scored 60 goals in 169 appearances during his time at Hartlepool.
He has scored 29 goals in 82 appearances for Orient.
Boyd sidelined after ankle injury
Leyton Orient striker Adam Boyd could be sidelined for a month after picking an ankle injury.
The 26-year-old sustained ligament damage during Saturday's 1-0 victory against Crewe Alexandra.
Manager Geraint Williams told the club's website: "It's very disappointing for Adam as obviously he wanted to get back in the side.
"He had the chance on Saturday but unfortunately we had to take him off after 20 minutes, which wasn't great."
Williams added: "Reading have let us bring young Simon Church in on loan and he's an exciting young prospect.
"So while we're disappointed to lose Adam for a while, we're excited about getting Simon on board."
