Leigertwood extends QPR deal
QPR midfielder Mikele Leigertwood has signed a new contract at Loftus Road until the summer of 2012. The in-form 27-year-old has made 111 appearances for the club since joining in 2007 and his deal was set to expire at the end of the season. The former Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and Wimbledon ace has pledged his future to the Championship club despite the recent upheaval at Rangers, and was delighted to put pen to paper. "I'm delighted," he told the QPR's official website. "I've really enjoyed my two and a half years here so far and I'm really pleased to be extending my deal with the club. "This club means a great deal to me and I am really settled here. "I genuinely believe there's a very bright future at the club and I want to be part of it." Meanwhile, QPR are confident their FA Cup third round replay against Sheffield United on Tuesday night will go ahead despite adverse weather conditions in West London.
