Lecce wanted to sign Akos Buzsaky
Italian club Lecce have expressed an interest in signing Queens Park Rangers midfielder Akos Buzsaky, according to his agent.
The Hungary international struggled last season due to injury problems and made only 16 appearances as Neil Warnock's men stormed to the Championship title and promotion to the Premier League.
And, while Buzsaky is now fully fit and hoping to force his way into the side in the top flight at Loftus Road next season, his agent Vladan Filipovic revealed that Lecce are looking to take him to Serie A.
It is not known if Warnock sees Buzsaky as part of his plans in the long term, but Filipovic insists that the R's fans' favourite wants to stay.
"Akos deserves to play in the Premier League," he told the Hungarian edition of FourFourTwo.
"I think it suits his style more than the Championship. It's useless to give credit to the reports that he'd be released because the club hasn't mentioned that to me, or him.
"Akos is an important QPR player. Last year Lecce wanted to sign him but the club officials didn't let him go.
"Flavio Briatore told me a couple of times that he's one of his favourite players."
