League defers ownership decision
The Football League's has delayed making a decision over whether Flavio Briatore should be forced to relinquish ownership of Queens Park Rangers Football Club.
Briatore has been handed an indefinite ban by Formula One authorities as a result of his role in the 'Crashgate' scandal, which could mean the Italian no longer fulfils the terms of the Football League's Fit and Proper Persons Test.
However, after seeking legal advice in regards to existing regulations, the Football League has announced it has deferred its decision to ban Briatore from running QPR in order to give Briatore a chance to respond.
A statement from the Football League said: After considering all the information presently available to it and in the interest of due process, the Board will seek responses from Mr Briatore before commenting further."
