Latka handed Middlesbrough trial
Czech defender Martin Latka will be given a trial by Middlesbrough during their training break in Marbella.
The 21-year-old Slavia Prague star will be assessed before Boro return to England to plan for Saturday's FA Cup fourth round tie at Coventry.
Reports in the Czech Republic had suggested that Slavia rejected a bid from Boro for the 6ft 4in Czech Republic Under-21 player.
But a Boro spokesman said: "He is actually with us on trial in Marbella."
Latka - who speaks good English - is believed to have been watched by Boro for some time.
After Slavia's friendly with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, he said: "My dream might come true.
"I appreciate this chance highly as I am a great admirer of English football and the Premiership."
