Langley set to face U's
Former Queens Park Rangers, Cardiff City and Luton Town midfielder Richard Langley is set to play for Cheltenham Town in tomorrow's (August 2) friendly at Oxford United (3pm). Langley is a free agent having left Luton during their summer financial problems. The 29-year old, who can play either through the centre of midfield or out wide, missed much of last season with a knee injury but returned to full fitness for the closing weeks of the campaign. He began his career with QPR and made 150 appearances for the Loftus Road club, scoring 10 goals from midfield during the 2002-03 season. His form earned him both a £200,000 move to Cardiff City and a call up to the Jamaican international team, for whom he made 12 appearances and scored two goals. After two seasons with Cardiff he returned to QPR for the 2005-06 season and made the switch to Luton Town in the summer of 2006. Langley is set to become the 34th player to appear for Cheltenham Town during the pre-season campaign.
