Klinsmann has talks over US role
Jurgen Klinsmann has held discussions with the United States Soccer Federation over the possibility of becoming coach of their national team. But no agreement has been reached with the former Germany coach and talks with four or five other candidates are believed to still be taking place. \"I'm not going to sit here and deny that we have talked to Klinsmann,\" said USSF president Sunil Gulati. \"We've not made any decisions about who will be coaching our national team.\" Klinsmann, 41, told the New York Times last week that he was interested in replacing Bruce Arena. Arena, who had been at the helm for eight years, was told in July that his contract would not be renewed. Gulati added: \"We're looking for someone with a track record of success, that's a number one criteria. \"Jurgen brings a lot of positive qualities to the possibility of coaching the national team. \"He had indicated a desire to take some time off and has said that he's now taken some time off and would be open to having a discussion.\" A decision is expected in November.
