Kettering Town
Kettering captain John Dempster will remain at Rockingham Road next season for their return to the Blue Square Premier after signing a new deal. Craig Westcarr, subject of an alleged illegal approach from Stevenage, and David Bridges have joined Boro. Defender Luke Graham has agreed to stay at Town, while talks remain "ongoing" with midfielder Brett Solkhon. Tom Kemp and Kevin Spencer are set to remain, and the club hope to keep first-team coach Adam Sinclair.

Kettering sign midfielder Wrack
Kettering Town have signed former Walsall midfielder Darren Wrack. The 32-year-old is manager Mark Cooper's third summer signing ahead of their debut Blue Square Premier season. Wrack scored 52 goals in over 300 appearances during his ten years with the Saddlers and was released at the end of last season. The former Derby County trainee joined Grimsby Town in 1996 and spent a month on loan at Shrewsbury in 1997 before signing for Walsall in 1998.

QPR's Arthur loaned to Kettering
QPR youngster Chris Arthur has joined Blue Square Premier leaders Kettering Town on a three-month loan deal. The 18-year-old left-sided player has yet to make a first-team appearance for Rangers, and spent time on loan Hayes & Yeading last season. Kettering boss Mark Cooper told the club's official website: "I believe that he's a player that can add further strength to the team. "But, as with everyone, he will to work hard to force his way into the team."

Poppies sign veteran striker Lee
Kettering Town have signed experienced striker Jason Lee from fellow Blue Square Premier side Mansfield Town. The much-travelled 37-year-old, London-born, former Nottingham Forest and Notts County target man has signed until the end of the season. "I've seen a few negative comments from our supporters already which drives me crackers," Kettering boss Mark Cooper told Radio Northampton. "Jason gives us something we haven't got which is a real presence up front. Poppies manager Cooper was sold on Lee after seeing him come off the bench as a late substitute to help beat Kettering in Mansfield's 3-1 win at Rockingham Road on Boxing Day. "He played against us for 20 minutes and battered our two centre-backs into submission," said Cooper. "And there's not many strikers that do that. "He's not going to get it and do seven Cruyff turns and go past three people and smash it into the top corner. "But he's going to keep defenders occupied and win a lot of balls in the air and make goals for people. "I was after him in the summer but for one reason or another it didn't happen so I'm pleased to get him." Lee, who began as a trainee at Charlton Athletic, will be making the 16th move of his career. Apart from Forest, County and Mansfield, he also played for Lincoln City, Southend United, Watford, Chesterfield, Peterborough United, Falkirk, Boston United and Northampton Town and had loan spells with Stockport County, back at his first club Charlton and Grimsby Town. After choosing Mansfield over Kettering when he was released by Notts County in August, his first move into non-league football, Lee scored three times in the Stags' first four games. That took his career tally to 123 goals in 626 games (159 of which he has started on the bench). But he has not scored since - and has now been deemed surplus to requirements by new Mansfield boss David Holdsworth.

Westcarr proud of Poppies effort
Kettering's two-goal hero Craig Westcarr has insisted the players were proud of their efforts against Fulham in the FA Cup on Saturday. The Poppies went down 4-2 to the Premier League outfit, conceding twice in the last three minutes after looking on course for a replay in London. "It was a great occasion, probably the best since I've been here," the striker told Radio Northampton. "We would have liked a replay, but we're still proud and happy," he added. "The fans were brilliant and there was a terrific atmosphere. It's just the sort of game you like to play in. "In the last few minutes we let ourselves down, but at the end of the day we've gone out and competed with them." Westcarr, 23, netted two equalisers for Kettering - on 36 and 83 minutes - before goals from Andy Johnson and Bobby Zamora sent Fulham into the last 16.

Cooper coy over Kettering future
Kettering manager Mark Cooper has said that there is "a chance" that Saturday's 1-0 win at Eastbourne was his last game in charge of the Poppies. The 40-year-old has been linked with the vacant post at Luton Town. When asked by Radio Northampton if he might not be in charge for Kettering's next match he replied: "There's always a chance, isn't there?" Cooper took charge of Kettering, who currently lie second in the Blue Square Premier, in May 2007. He added: "I don't think they should be worried. "They're second in the table with 30 points and are chasing Oxford United down. "There are some fantastic football players and characters in the dressing room so there's no way at all they should be worried."
