I'm ready for Hoops : Wallace
Globetrotting winger Ross Wallace insists his feet are firmly back on the ground in readiness for Preston North End's trip to Queens Park Rangers this weekend.
Wallace collected a first senior Scotland cap last Saturday in their friendly in Japan, playing 45 minutes of the 2-0 defeat.
It involved a 13,000 mile round-trip and two 12-hour flights, but the 24-year-old wideman still turned down the offer of an extra day off in order to start his preparations for the QPR clash.
The Loftus Road encounter is followed by another away day, at Sheffield Wednesday next Tuesday, before North End return to Deepdale for back-to-back home games with Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace.
Wallace told the Evening Post: "It was a bit of a long trip to Japan but I got my first Scotland cap so it was well worth it.
"I've always wanted to play for Scotland, so wherever the game was I was going to get myself there.
"In the last year or so I have done all right for Preston so it was nice that it led to this opportunity to play at international level. I'm back now feeling fine.
"Going out to Japan was a bit tiring with the jetlag, and it was a 12-hour flight in either direction.
"But I've had two training sessions since I got back, so I'm okay.
"The gaffer gave me the option of having Monday off and coming back to training yesterday, but I came in as normal on Monday.
"I want to be bang at it for Preston again and now we've got a big league game at QPR on Saturday.
"It's another tough one, as they all are in the Championship, but away from home we've been going all right this season and hopefully can continue to do so."
