Hull City have been linked in today's papers with a £1.4 million move for Rangers midfielder Martin Rowlands.
Rowlands is a highly regarded player at Queens Park Rangers and it would seem unlikely that Iain Dowie would allow the player to leave for the reported £1.4 million that Phil Brown is set to offer.
Hull's apparent interest in midfielder's seems to continue, but one senses this could be a back-up move should the deal for Middlesbrough's George Boateng fall through after learning of rivals for the player's signature.
Hull have already completed the signings of central midfielder Geovanni and right-winger Craig Fagan, but Phil Brown could add to his depleted midfield again after losing Henrik Pedersen.
Whilst the midfield appears to be the City manager's main focus, the defence continues to look a little thin although VF understands the club have bids or enquiries in for up to 10 players at the present time.
