New Huddersfield deal for Collins Huddersfield's teenage midfielder Michael Collins has agreed a new two-year deal at the Galpharm Stadium. The 18-year-old has been rewarded with a contract extension after breaking into the senior squad this season and starting seven games in League One. "Michael has been one of the success stories of the season. It¿s important that we get these young lads contracted to the club," boss Peter Jackson said. Meanwhile, full-back Danny Adams will stay on a further 12 months.

Striker Sodje leaves Huddersfield
Huddersfield Town have released striker Akpo Sodje after less then one season with the Terriers. Sodje, 22, failed to break into the first team but scored 15 goals in 17 games for the reserves and also had a loan spell at Darlington in March. "I know he enjoyed his time here," boss Peter Jackson told the club's website. "I really hopes he gets fixed up somewhere and proves me wrong because he is a decent player who did brilliantly in the reserves for us."

McAliskey pens new Terriers deal
Huddersfield Town striker John McAliskey has signed a new two-year deal with the Terriers. The 20-year-old has been kept on until June 2007 and boss Peter Jackson hopes he will live up to his potential after scoring just three times this season. "I'm delighted he has agreed to sign, but I want to see more from him next season," Jackson told the club website. "He has not pushed on like I had hoped, but there is a lot more to come from him over the next few years."

Jackson wants duo to extend deals
Huddersfield boss Peter Jackson is hoping midfielders Jon Worthington and Chris Brandon extend their contracts. Captain Worthington, 22, and Brandon, 29, are under contract until the summer of 2006, but Jackson said: "I am keen to secure them for the next two years. "Jon has earned tremendous respect from the squad for taking on responsibility and he is a driving force for us. "Chris' workrate is unbelievable and he brings tremendous skill and creativity to the side," he told the club website.

Worthington extends Terriers deal
Huddersfield's Jonathan Worthington has signed a new contract which will keep the Terriers skipper at the Galpharm Stadium until the summer of 2007. The 22-year-old Dewsbury-born midfielder missed the last four games of the campaign with a knee injury. But boss Peter Jackson told the club website: "No-one will be keener than Worthy to start next season strongly. "He's taken the job on board - he is our leader, both on and off the pitch, and he's an important influence."

Huddersfield sign Taylor-Fletcher
Huddersfield Town have signed former Lincoln striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher. The 24-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with the Terriers after being released by Lincoln of last season. "He has got plenty of goals in him and he will be a great addition to the squad," Huddersfield boss Peter Jackson told his club's website. Former Leyton Orient striker Taylor-Fletcher scored 29 goals in two seasons with Lincoln to twice help them reach the League Two play-offs.

Jackson looking for more players
Huddersfield Town manager Peter Jackson reckons he has almost finished his summer shopping. Jackson completed the signing of striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher on Monday. And he told the Huddersfield Examiner: "The signing of Gary takes my squad up to 25, so I'm probably looking at one, maybe two more players coming in. "I do have a player thinking over an offer at the moment, but there's not a lot more happening because players and managers are still away on holiday."

Taylor-Fletcher up for challenge
Huddersfield new signing Gary Taylor-Fletcher is relishing the prospect of spearheading Town's promotion challenge. Taylor-Fletcher is determined to put successive play-off disappointments with former club Lincoln behind him. He told Town's website: "I've had my disappointments for the past two years so I'm hoping it's third time lucky. "Huddersfield were only a point off the play-offs last time and we're fully focussed on building on that."

McIntosh and Hudson join Terriers
Huddersfield have signed Rotherham defender Martin McIntosh and former Chesterfield midfielder Mark Hudson. The duo have joined the Terriers on two-year deals to complete boss Peter Jackson's summer squad strengthening. McIntosh, 34, leaves Rotherham after a four-year stay at Millmoor, which saw the centre-back captain the club and start 132 games, scoring 16 times. Hudson, 24, left Chesterfield after more than two years at Saltergate following a move from Middlesbrough.

Shakers and Terriers target Baker
Released Barnsley midfielder Tom Baker is a target for Huddersfield and Bury. The 20-year-old was not offered a new contract at Oakwell, but he told the Tykes' website: "Bury and Huddersfield have been in touch with my agent. "At the moment, I am going to Bury next week to have a look around and speak to the manager, but I am not sure where I will end up just yet. "I want to speak to both clubs. I'm not bothered in dropping down a division if the club and deal are right for me." Baker made just four substitute appearances for Barnsley's first team.

Brown fails to agree Shrews move
Utility man Nat Brown has returned to Huddersfield after failing to agree terms over a move to Shrewsbury. The 24-year-old has made 83 appearances for the Terriers but made just seven starts last season - and still has a year of his contract to run. "It's a shame for Nat, as he's a great kid with a brilliant attitude and undoubted ability," Huddersfield boss Peter Jackson told his club's website. "The only problem is that I cannot guarantee him first-team football."

Brown agrees deal with Lincoln
Huddersfield Town utility man Nat Brown has agreed terms to join Lincoln City on a one-year contract, report Radio Leeds. The 24-year-old made 83 appearances for the Terriers but was restricted to just seven starts last season. Brown is a product of the Town Academy and still had a year remaining on his contract at The Galpharm Stadium. He returned to Huddersfield at the end of last week after failing to agree terms over a move to Shrewsbury.

Jackson says Fowler move unlikely
Huddersfield boss Peter Jackson has told Lee Fowler that Grimsby manager Russell Slade will not be signing him. The midfielder is back at Huddersfield after 10 days training with Grimsby and Jackson told the club's website: "It doesn't look like anything will happen. "It could still depend on how Grimsby go with injuries but, at the moment, it is dead. "Lee knows there are a lot of people ahead of him in the pecking order here so he's going to have to be patient."

Jackson asks for more consistency
Huddersfield boss Peter Jackson is warning his side not to get carried away after they moved to third in League One after beating Swansea. "We kept our discipline in a bad tempered game and I'm pleased for my players as we worked hard again and it's an excellent result," he said. "There is not a lot wrong with what we are doing at the moment but I don't want people to get too carried away. "We do look a good side but we have to be consistent."

Gary Taylor-Fletcher hit a brilliant second-half hat-trick as Huddersfield made progress in the Carling Cup. Pawel Abbot's header had given Town the lead, but Chesterfield levelled when Derek Niven nodded home. A Taylor-Fletcher header restored the Terriers' advantage before Kevan Hurst made it 2-2 with a powerful low drive.
