Hoops deny Ince reports
Hoops have rubbished reports that Paul Ince is set to become their latest manager. Ince has been out of work since being sacked as Blackburn Rovers boss in December after just six months in charge. Reports claim the ex-England midfielder held talks with QPR's sporting director Gianni Paldini about replacing Paulo Sousa. The pressure is on Sousa with the west London club lying in 11th place in the Championship table, having failed to win in their last seven games. But Paldini has insisted that Sousa will not be replaced by Ince. "When I heard what was printed in a newspaper I couldn't believe it. I have no idea where it came from because there is 100 per cent no truth in it whatsoever," the Italian said. "It was said that I am a friend of Paul Ince. I am not a friend of his. I admired him greatly as a player and, for what it's worth, I think he's a very good young manager. But we're not friends and we haven't spoken. "Even if the thought had occurred to me that he should be QPR's manager - which it didn't - I don't have the power to make that decision. "That decision lies with the owners and I know for a fact that they want to keep Paulo Sousa, so nonsense about him having two games left is completely wrong as well." Sousa has been in charge at Loftus Road for four months after replacing Iain Dowie, who was sacked in October. Ince was among the candidates linked with the QPR job to replace Dowie. QPR are thought to be the second richest club in England as they are owned by Formula One tycoons Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore along with steel billionaire Lakshmi Mittal.
