Hoops cash in with TalkTalk
Queens Park Rangers have officially announced a five-year deal with TalkTalk.
The new deal, which will see TalkTalk become QPR's new business partner, is reportedly worth a six-figure sum and will enable the communications group to gain access to corporate hospitality facilities at QPR’s stadium, Loftus Road. The deal also incorporates TalkTalk supplying progressive technology for the benefit of staff and fans, and providing business support across all areas of communication through its b2b division, Opal. TalkTalk will also use Loftus Road as a business reference site for their clients.
QPR's deputy managing director, Ali Russell, said of the deal: "We're absolutely thrilled to have TalkTalk on board to support our current blue chip partners at the club. This deal ensures that we will have the latest technology to deal with our customers' current and future needs. Local partnerships are very important to QPR and we look forward to building business on behalf of TalkTalk."
Tristia Clarke, TalkTalk commercial director, added: "This is a strong partnership for TalkTalk and adds real value to our business through the club's first rate hospitality and catering facilities. Linking to a club with such an ambitious vision also fits very well with our own business ideals, and as such, we are delighted to be affiliated."
The new initiative forms part of TalkTalk’s commitment to the communities in which it operates. Based in west London, Queens Park Rangers currently play in the Football League Championship, the second tier of English soccer. The club’s current chairman is Indian businessman Ishan Saksena. QPR’s board of directors is comprised of Italian businessman and former owner of two Formula One racing terms, Flavio Briatore, and Bernie Ecclestone, the British sports entrepreneur and chief executive officer of Formula One Management and Formula One Administration.
With over 4.1 million broadband customers and 1.1 million voice-only and narrowband customers, the TalkTalk Telecom Group PLC is one of the leading fixed line voice and broadband telecommunications businesses in the UK.
