Hayles Set For Leicester Move
Plymouth Argyle striker Barry Hayles is set to sign for Leicester City and could play against Queens Park Rangers tomorrow. Former Argyle manager Ian Holloway recently made a verbal bid for Hayles but the Pilgrims rejected that offer. Holloway has now come back with an improved offer and the Home Park club have given Hayles permission to speak to Leicester. Hayles signed for Argyle in the summer of 2006 and has 6 months left on his current contract. The former Fulham striker was Argyle's top scorer last season with 14 goals but missed a lot of games after picking up several bookings. Holloway left Argyle in November to take over at the Walkers Stadium and threatened to return to the club when the January transfer window re-opened and sign some of the Argyle squad. Hayles signed for Holloway's Bristol Rovers in 1997 from non-league Stevenage. The Leicester boss has also made a £1.5 million bid for Derby County striker Steve Howard.
