Gregory waits for perfect 10
Since Kevin Gallen's departure in January, no-one has worn the jersey, and Gregory is in no hurry to assign it.
He said: "I was fortunate enough, as a kid, to see both Stan Bowles and Rodney Marsh wear the number 10 shirt here, and you have to be a good player to wear it.
"It is a very coveted number at this club. There have been some great number 10s down the years, and outstanding individuals tend to have worn the shirt.
"I've kept it back so far, because you need to be a very good player to wear it. A lot is expected of you and, to a certain degree, I will be putting a lot of pressure on the person who gets it, so they will need to be able to handle that.
"I'm just sitting on it for a little while and, if no-one comes in that I feel is worthy of it, I will just hold it back until the time is right."
