Gorman named Magilton's assistant
Queens Park Rangers have confirmed former England assistant manager John Gorman has joined the club as Jim Magilton's number two. The 59-year-old has agreed a two-year deal to work alongside Magilton again after the pair were together at Ipswich. Gorman assisted former England boss Glenn Hoddle between 1996 and 1999 and has a wealth of coaching experience after also spending time at Swindon Town, Reading, Southampton, Spurs and Gillingham during a distinguished career. Gorman is delighted with the appointment and admits that, while expectations are high at Loftus Road, he is looking forward to the challenge. He told the club's website: "I am honoured at being given this exciting opportunity and I thank the club's management for choosing me. "QPR has plenty of history and a big following. I know most of the players and have great respect for them. I rate them highly and look forward to working with such good players. "The expectations are high and I will do my very best to meet them, assisting Jim and working hard to have our best shot at getting the club promoted."
