Jepson criticises Gills display Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson said he wanted more from his players after their 1-0 home defeat to Northampton.
\"I hope the players aren't complacent because their place is not under too much threat with the size of our squad,\" Jepson said.
\"I need more from my players than we saw on Saturday. They are not nailed down in that shirt, I have told them that in the dressing room.
\"It's back to base-camp to do things we started off the season doing well.\"

Jepson shrugs off striker problem Gillingham manager Ronnie Jepson is refusing to blame his problems in signing a striker for his team's poor start to the season.
The Gills won their first game of the season but have since lost three games and scored twice in the process.
\"We had a knockback on Thursday,\" said Jepson. \"The player was set to come but the club had an injury in training to another forward.
\"That was put on hold. But I won't use that as an excuse.\"

Jepson to step up player search Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson will step up his efforts to bring in a striker in the final week of the transfer window.
That need was thrown into sharp focus as the Gills struggled to break down Millwall in their 2-1 Carling Cup loss.
\"Everybody's after a striker and if it's within the budget then great - but we can't go out and buy people.
\"Me and my staff have been all over the country, phoning every manager in the Championship and Premiership, but we'll have to keep looking,\" Jepson said.
\"We'll just have to see what's about and maybe do a bit of begging and borrowing and use the loan system.
\"We're looking for all sorts to improve us.\"
And after the defeat at the New Den that could now include some defenders as Jepson was left fuming after seeing his side concede two sloppy goals.
The first came shortly before the break when Duncan Jupp's backpass played Brent Sancho into trouble and Kevin Braniff pounced.
Number two came from a corner with five minutes remaining and just four minutes after Gillingham had squared the game.
The result means the Kent club have lost four on the bounce having picked up three points at home to Huddersfield on the opening day of the season.
And one of Jepson's concerns as he looks to break that run of defeats is that with one of the smallest squads in League One his players are not being put under enough pressure for their places.
\"First half there was nothing in it and both teams were waiting for something to happen. We did that for them with that backpass, but full credit to their kid who finished well in the bottom corner,\" Jepson added.
\"Second half it was an open game with both teams going forward, we had seven or eight corners and got a goal off one.
\"But then once we get ourselves back in the game we are caught napping.
\"That's annoying and we've got to defend better than that from set-plays.
\"Both teams contributed to it being an open game and it was a change from the league so the lads went at it a little bit better, they were more open than normal.
\"Overall there were some good points, but when you get beat by a set-piece when you've just got yourself back in the game it's disappointing.
\"I also need a bit more work up front from certain players, which I'll get.\"
If Jepson's players put as much effort in on the pitch as he is on the phones then they will soon turn the corner, although success in the latter will significantly help the former.

Jepson joy at Crofts Wales call Gillingham manager Ronnie Jepson says Andrew Crofts fully deserves his call-up to the Wales squad.
The midfielder, 22, scored in the midweek Carling Cup defeat to Millwall and Jepson said: \"He's coming on.
\"I've been speaking to Wales Under-21 director of football Brian Flynn and he thinks very highly of Andrew.
\"That's been shown in his promotion to the senior squad with the way he's been going at it for them and the way he's been playing for us.\"

Blackpool 1-1 Gillingham Blackpool were denied their first home league win of the season by a superb goalkeeping performance from Gillingham's Darren Randolph.
Gillingham scored in the third minute when Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu tapped in as the hosts' defence hesitated.
Randolph could do nothing about Blackpool's equaliser, a Scott Vernon header from Wesley Hoolahan's cross.
But the 19-year-old stopper, on loan from Charlton, made a series of superb saves as Blackpool went for the win.

Jepson hoping to build on point Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson hopes his side can take confidence after a 1-1 draw at Blackpool ended their run of four league and cup defeats.
\"I changed a few things around, and we've stopped the rot,\" he said.
\"We had a couple of late chances to win the game, but a draw was probably the right result in the end.
\"I'm pleased for Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu, as he's been trying to find his feet and the first goal at a new club is always so important for any player.\"

Gills boss stunned by home defeat Gillingham manager Ronnie Jepson was stunned by his team's 2-0 home defeat against Scunthorpe on Friday night.
\"It is very frustrating. We were excellent for the first 30 minutes. How we came in 2-0 down at half-time I don't know,\" Jepson said.
\"Some of our play was excellent but when you create that many chances you have got to stick them away.
\"In the second half, I thought the lads showed plenty of commitment but I need them to have a bit more nous.\"

Jepson salutes Gills resilience Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson said his team were \"a credit to the shirt\" after their 10-man 2-1 win at Doncaster.
Danny Jackman was sent off after 30 minutes for his second booking, a handball, having earlier been booked for a foul.

\"A lot of things conspired against us but we stuck to the task, we were a credit to the shirt.\"

Captain sympathises with Scally Gillingham captain Mike Flynn sympathises with chairman Paul Scally after supporters call for him to leave.
Fans expressed their disquiet after last week's 2-0 defeat to Scunthorpe.
Flynn told Sir Stanley: \"The chairman has had a bit of stick but hopefully the win against Doncaster will take some of the pressure off.
\"If there aren't and funds there is nothing that he can do because you can't take out of an empty pocket, so it's a little bit unfair on him.\"
Flynn added: \"I'm sure that with a few positive results it will all be forgotten and the fans will get right behind him.\"

The Trinidad & Tobago World Cup star, 29, was forced off at half-time of Saturday's 2-1 victory at Doncaster with the injury.
He suffered the injury in a first-half collision with team-mate Mark Bentley.
Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson said: \"It's a blow, he's been an integral part of the squad this season, is influential and will be a big miss.\"
Jepson added: \"I'm trying to add a centre-half - I've been looking since pre-season to add to the competition in all departments of my squad.\"

Boss Ronnie Jepson is without defender Brent Sancho, who has been ruled out for six weeks with a knee injury, and goalkeeper Kelvin Jack (knee).
With Lee Trundle still injured, Swansea boss Kenny Jackett is likely to keep faith with striker Leon Knight after his two goals in midweek.
Owain Tudur-Jones and Garry Monk (both knee) remain sidelined for the Swans.

Jepson happy at Cox double strike Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson was pleased to see defender Ian Cox score twice in the 3-1 win against Swansea.
\"It was nice for Coxy to score two - it's about time, and that will be his two for the season!\" Jepson joked.
\"But I keep asking the lads to score goals from different areas of the team, and they are coming up with them.
\"We are a million miles from Swansea in terms of budget - you would take a 3-1 win over them all day long - but we have a wonderful work ethic.\"
