Ferrari set to seal Everton deal
Roma's Italy defender Matteo Ferrari is expected to complete the formalities of a one-year loan switch to Everton on Friday, BBC Sport understands.
The 25-year-old joined Roma in 2004 from Parma and made 35 league appearances last season.
"Ferrari will play on loan at Everton," his representative Giovanni Corci told Italian radio station Radio Incontro.
Corci added: "We are only waiting for club administrator Rosella Sensi to ratify this move."
Everton will have the option to buy the player's transfer rights next summer for £3.7m.
The deal was held up by a Fifa-imposed ban on Roma's transfers, which was lifted earlier this month.
But the player of Algerian origin is expected on Merseyside to sign on Friday, with Everton also poised to revive a move for Inter Milan's Holland winger Andy van der Meyde.
