European ups and downs
GERMANY Bayern are set to win 19th German title CHAMPIONS: Bayern Munich clinched their 19th German championship on Saturday as Roy Makaay scored a hat-trick in a 4-0 win at Kaiserslautern. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFIERS: Second place ensures automatic entry with third entering qualifiers. UEFA CUP QUALIFIERS: Fifth and sixth. RELEGATION: Bottom three go down with Freiburg already relegated. GERMAN CUP: Bayern or Schalke 04 (final on 28 May). ITALY CHAMPIONS: Champions AC Milan remain neck-and-neck on 73 points with Juventus in the race for the title. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFIERS: Second place ensures automatic entry with third and fourth entering qualifiers. UEFA CUP QUALIFIERS: Fifth and sixth. RELEGATION: Bottom three go down. COPPA ITALIA: Roma, Udinese, Inter Milan and Cagliari are contesting the Coppa Italia semi-finals. SPAIN CHAMPIONS: Barcelona are favourites to win Primera Liga, with Real Madrid already guaranteed second-place unless they overhaul Barca in the run-in. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFIERS: Second place ensures automatic entry with third and fourth entering qualifiers. UEFA CUP QUALIFIERS: Fifth and sixth and possibly seventh depending who wins the Copa del Rey. RELEGATION: Bottom three go down with Mallorca, Albacete and Numancia set for the drop. COPA DEL REY: Real Betis and Athletic Bilbao drew 0-0 in the semi-final first leg, while Atletico Madrid trail Osasuna by a single goal. The second-legs are due to be played on the weekend of 10 and 11 May. FRANCE CHAMPIONS: Lyon have all but sealed a fourth successive title.
