Esperance keep up chase
Tunisia's Esperance inflicted a crushing 5-0 defeat on Renacimiento of Equatorial Guinea in the Confederation Cup on Sunday. The victory took them to second place to keep up the pressure on compatriots Etoile Sahel, who head Group B. Nigeria import Mike Eneramo scored twice as Esperance won a second successive home game in the group in Tunis. The visiting team played for almost an hour with 10 men after the 38th-minute sending-off of defender Guillobert. Renacimiento have now lost all three group matches, conceding 12 goals in the process. Etoile Sahel kept up their 100 percent record with a 4-1 win over FC St Eloi Lupopo of DR Congo in Sousse on Saturday which included two goals from another Nigerian import, Emeka Opara. Moroccan clubs beat their Angolan opponents to take charge of Group A at the weekend. Royal Armed Forces are the leaders after a 2-0 win over InterClube in Rabat on Saturday, one point ahead of Olympique Khouribga who beat Petro Atletico 1-0 on Sunday.
