England youngsters lose in Toulon
England were knocked out of the Toulon Under-20 tournament after losing a penalty shoot-out 5-4 to France.
Both sides hit the woodwork - Darren Ambrose for England, Jimmy Briand and Arnold Mvuemba for the hosts - before James Milner missed with his penalty.
"It was a very good experience," England boss Peter Taylor said.
"Some of the French forward play was outstanding so it was a great chance for the defenders to test themselves against some of the best players."
