England unchanged for German test
England Women coach Hope Powell has named an unchanged squad for the friendly against World and European champions Germany on 25 October. Powell's has kept faith with the players who secured the 1-1 draw in France which earned England a place at next year's Women's World Cup in China. Arsenal's Kelly Smith - shortlisted for the Fifa World Women's Player of the Year - is included. She will be up against the current holder of the title, Birgit Prinz. Prinz has scored 99 goals in her 153 international apperances for Germany who are currently top of the Fifa rankings. England and Germany have played each other on 10 occasions, with the Germans winning on every occasion. Their last meeting was in September 2003, when two goals from Prinz helped the Germans to a 4-0 victory in Darmstadt. Germany were the only European country to go through their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 100% record, scoring 31 goals and conceeding three.
