Elliott to miss Latvia qualifier
Northern Ireland midfielder Stuart Elliott has been forced out of Wednesday night's Euro 2008 qualifier against Latvia at Windsor Park.
Elliott is returning to Hull City and will see a specialist on Tuesday for an ongoing reflux problem.
NI manager Lawrie Sanchez has filled the void by bringing Hibernian winger Ivan Sproule into his squad.
Sanchez said last week that both Sproule and Chris Brunt were likely to be recalled for the Latvia game.
The decision to leave in-form Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Brunt out of his squad for Saturday's draw against Denmark had been \"difficult\", according to Sanchez.
\"Both of them are stars of the future and they are likely to be brought into the squad,\" he added.
Michael Duff's suspension for the Latvia game is likely to result in Damien Johnson's return to the starting line-up.
The Birmingham City midfielder came on as a second-half substitute in Denmark after completing a two-match ban.
Southampton's Chris Baird has impressed in a holding midfield role but he is expected to fill in as Duff's replacement at right-back.
Johnson should take he vacancy left by Baird in the only change to the team.
