Dons snap up QPR starlet
The QPR man is out of contract at Loftus Road in the summer, and is set to remain with the Dons for the remainder of the season.
And the 19-year-old forward is determined to prove his worth.
Parker said: “As soon as I got the opportunity to come to Wimbledon I jumped at the chance.
“This is the chance of first-team football at a club that plays good football and has real aspirations.
“I just want to enjoy my time here and show people what I can do.
“I aim to do as well as I can and prove that I deserve a contract.
“If I get offered something I would definitely consider it, so now it is up to me to show that on the pitch.”
Parker has been a constant in the QPR reserve team this season, with Terry Brown running the rule over the pacy frontman at a game against Leyton Orient on Wednesday.
And the Slough-born teenager revealed everything happened very fast.
He added: “I came in on Thursday for a warm down and the reserve boss Keith Ryan told me then that Wimbledon were interested and by Thursday night I was training with them.
“I hadn’t even spoken to Terry until I turned up at training.
“I have never been on loan before so I was a bit nervous, but they are a great bunch of lads here and there was a really good vibe about the place.”
Parker was at Wycombe Wanderers for a spell before his switch to West London and he admits he is willing to do whatever it takes to help Wimbledon succeed.
He added: “As a youngster I played as a striker, but since QPR’s reserves switched to 4-3-3 I have been playing out wide because of my pace.
“I love running with the ball and running at people.
“I just want to give the Wimbledon fans something to shout about and do my best to help them make the play-offs.”
