DOHERTY BACK FOR Rs Tommy Doherty should return to QPR's starting line-up for the home match against Sheffield Wednesday.
The 26-year-old midfielder was a key element in Rangers' fine start to the season, which saw them take seven points from their opening three matches.
But since Doherty was forced out with a knee injury, Ian Holloway's men have suffered consecutive 3-0 defeats at Coventry and Northampton.
Dan Shittu also returns after completing a one-match ban, while his central defensive partner Georges Santos faces a late fitness test on a calf injury.
Defender Ian Evatt misses out through suspension, while Lee Cook, Martin Rowlands, Dean Sturridge and Marc Nygaard are all still injured.
Owls defender Graham Coughlan has not ruled himself out.
The news is a welcome boost to Owls boss Paul Sturrock who feared the worst when his summer capture from Plymouth was stretchered off during the midweek Carling Cup win at Stockport with suspected ankle ligament damage.
The 31-year-old centre-back underwent both X-rays and a scan amid concerns he may also have broken his ankle, but results confirmed no fracture, relatively minor ligament damage and severe bruising.
Coughlan will now face a late fitness test on Friday morning in the hope of playing some unexpected part at Loftus Road.

QPR midfielder Tommy Doherty is back to full fitness after two weeks of treatment on a knee injury and will be added to Ian Holloway's squad.
Midfielder Georges Santos faces a late fitness test on his calf injury which he picked up during training.
Owls defender Graham Coughlan has recovered from damaging his ankle ligaments but will take a fitness test.
On-loan midfielder Chris Eagles is also back after being left out on Tuesday to prevent him being cup-tied.

Note from Sir Stanley
I must admit having 7 players out for a couple of weeks has not helped us, conceding 6 goals in two games but it proves you need strength in depth at any level.
