DICHIO MAKES MLS SWITCH
Former QPR striker Danny Dichio has joined Major League Soccer outfit Toronto FC from Preston.
The 32-year-old, who was out of contract in the summer, was allowed to leave Preston early in order to secure a three-year deal before the MLS transfer window closed on Sunday.
Preston manager Paul Simpson admitted it was not ideal to lose Dichio as North End look to be heading for the play-offs.
He told the club's website: "Obviously he didn't want to let the chance pass by, it's a great opportunity for him, so after a lot of talks between me and him, and me giving it a lot of thought I decided it was probably in his interest to let him go.
"I sort of wondered how much we would have had Danny with us if we denied him this opportunity and it was a difficult decision."
