DE CANIO'S DREAM
Luigi De Canio has a dream - and it starts against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon. Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, the R's First Team coach gave us his thoughts ahead of the trip to Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup third round, sponsored by E.ON. "The FA Cup is very important to us," he told www.qpr.co.uk. "The tradition and history of the competition demands that we take it seriously and that is exactly what we will do. "We have a very good group of players here now and although Chelsea will provide a very tough test, it is a very exciting time to be going to Stamford Bridge. "Even though they have limited numbers at the moment, they are still a team of champions, while we are a Championship team." Indeed, Chelsea will be without injured quartet Petr Cech, John Terry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba tomorrow, while Ricardo Carvalho and Michael Essien also miss out owing to suspension. Yet despite the current crisis at Stamford Bridge, De Canio isn't about to get embroiled in 'unrealistic' comparisons between the two Clubs, commenting: "It makes me proud and happy that people are comparing QPR to Chelsea, but, at the moment, those comparisons are impossible. "For QPR to be bigger than Chelsea is just a dream for me - but there is no law against having nice dreams."

two major things that impress me about gigi are he never seems to be happy about winning,he was furious about concedeing two goals in the second half at watford.the other thing is he is always animated and focussed on the touchline.the last manager i can remember being like that was terry venables and look at the success we had under him.my dad can remember the team under dave sexton and said he was a carbon copy of gigi, read into that what you will but pa has been going since the late thirties so i think he has a fair view on things.

Absolutely excellent, I have never known anyone who had followed the R's in the thirties...well maybe an old steward I used to work with..Percy...he had a tale or two to tell..and you are right about Venables and hopefully things are on the change...another thing has me thinking I have a collection of programmes going back to the 40's to present day and my mouth is watering thinking that you may have some excellent programmes in your collection! maybe not but I long for earlier programmes but they never come up...wouldn't it be amazing to own a pre 1900's prog....dont the blood is rushing to the wrong place!!! :eng:

between me and pa we have over 10000 programmes tucked away in storage the most valuable one is a fold out sheet from the charity shield against man.utd which is the first ever charity shield game ever played so that is locked away in a safe and god knows how much that is worth?

Wow, thats superb and Im very jealous!! never counted mine...maybe I should!!!...I dont have any interest in any programmes that dont feature the hoops and I only collect home progs!! the only aways I have are Euro aways and specials inc testimonials ...that charity shield programme would be worth something for sure and would command a pretty penny..its the sort of thing dreams are made of..but the pinnacle for me is to own a pre 1900 sheet or up to 1914...but I do like to dream!! maybe one day..maybe!!
