De Canio to blood youngsters
Luigi De Canio inists he will continue to bring youngsters through the ranks at QPR despite the vast transfer funds available to him.
Teenage striker Angelo Balanta is currently making waves in the Rangers first team despite the money splashed on the squad, and De Canio is eager to build an impressive youth department rather than throw cash at bigger-name players.
"Even if a lot of money is spent on buying famous players it does not guarantee victory," said De Canio.
"Angelo is an excellent player. He puts a lot of effort in and he wants to learn.
"We are talking a lot with our coaches in the youth department. It is a really important part of any squad and no club can neglect the importance of the youth squads.
"My dream is to have Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League with six or seven players who have come through from the youth squad and we hope to make that dream come true."
