De Canio focused on tough task
Luigi De Canio would not be drawn on his transfer intentions after QPR suffered a 2-1 Boxing Day defeat at Plymouth.
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake score two second-half goals to turn around a 1-0 half-time deficit and De Canio admitted he was disappointed by the manner of the defeat.
The R's boss confirmed he would be looking to strengthen his squad in January but said the immediate priority was to try and pick up points.
De Canio said: "When you lose a game right at the death it is always going to be disappointing.
"I thought we deserved at least a point. We controlled the game well in the first half and got a goal, it did not seem too difficult. We needed another goal and if we carried on doing what we were doing we might have got it.
i'm actually impressed with gigi's attitude.ok the vresults haven't been great sometimes but you cant put the blame squarely on his shoulders just yet.as the owners said it's a four year plan and patience is the name of the game.i met gigi and gianni in the green after the colchester game and gianni acting as interpretor i was very pleased he answered my questions very positively and took on board a few points aswell.i said to him about the january window and he said please judge me in may when the squad has had time to gel.
