Danes lodge Uefa sanctions appeal
The Danish Football Federation has appealed against the sanctions handed out by Uefa following their abandoned Euro 2008 qualifier against Sweden.
Sweden were awarded a 3-0 win after a spectator attacked the referee with the score at 3-3 with 89 minutes gone.
Denmark were also fined £41,000 and must play their next four home games at least 155 miles away from Copenhagen.
The Danish Football federation says there are no Uefa-approved stadiums in Denmark at that distance.
Denmark's Christian Poulsen also was banned for three competitive internationals for punching Sweden striker Markus Rosenberg in the stomach during the 2 June match.
Sweden lead Group F, with Spain second and Northern Ireland third.
The Swedes now have 18 points, five clear of the Irish, who have a game in hand on the group leaders.
Denmark had fought back from 3-0 down to level the scores when referee Herbert Fandel sent off Poulsen and awarded Sweden a penalty.
That decision was followed by the fan's attack.
The officials subsequently left the field and the spot kick remained untaken.
Uefa relaxes Denmark's ground ban
Uefa has relaxed the punishment given to Denmark over the staging of future Euro 2008 home games after the ref was attacked in the match against Sweden.
The 2 June qualifier was called off in the 89th minute with the score at 3-3 when a fan confronted the referee.
Uefa subsequently awarded the tie 3-0 to Sweden and said Denmark must play their next four home games at least 250km (155 miles) away from Copenhagen.
But Uefa has now said it would consider suitable grounds nearer the capital.
The Danish Football Association (DBU), which was also fined 100,000 £40,000, argued on appeal that the venue decision was too harsh, given that there are no stadiums appropriate for international matches that met the distance required.
"Should one of the potential stadiums be located at a distance a little less than indicated in the decision, Uefa would approve this stadium, as long as it meets security requirements," UEFA told the DBU in a letter.
Danish media speculated that the qualifiers could be played in Aarhus, 160km away from Copenhagen.
