Damien Delaney To QPR?
Queens Park Rangers look set to continue spending their millions with the Loftus Road club apparently bidding for Hull`s Damien Delaney. The City defender has fallen out of favour at the KC Stadium this season but an offer from Colchester was rebuffed by Hull City as they sought more than the £450,000 that was on offer. Colchester were expected to make an improved offer but instead turned their attentions to and further signed Chris Coyne for £350,000 from cash strapped Luton Town. Reports from Queens Park Rangers suggest the London club will sign Delaney having failed with several bids for Sheffield Wednesday`s Tommy Spurr, with the potential end fee rising to as much as £1.2 million if reports are to be believed. This figure is a significant improvement on what Colchester bid and if true, the defender may end his spell at the club although he still has eighteen months remaining on his current deal. Since being taken over towards the end of November, QPR have readily spent their millions after being announced as the richest club in the world due to their new owners. As they are currently paying over the odds for anyone they can get their hands on, this rumour may hold some truth, especially with Hull City expected to agree to a deal if they could receive over £1 million for the Irishman. Phil Brown is rumoured to be looking for defensive options in the January transfer window, but most of the current speculation has regarded players leaving the club rather than joining.
