SIMON COX is being lined up for a £1.5m switch to QPR.
The Swindon striker has caught the attention of Rangers after a scintillating season in which the 21-year-old has found the back of the net 27 times in 45 appearances. And what is particularly impressive, is that he's done it for a struggling side. The Robins are languishing in 18th place - only three points outside the drop zone.
And it would help a Rangers bid if cash-strapped Swindon eventually end up in the League's basement.
There was some thought at Loftus Road that another League One hotshot, Gary Hooper, might fit the bill as Rangers look to replace Dexter Blackstock - on his way to Nottingham Forest in a £2m permanent deal in the summer.
But, although Hooper has only needed to look at a ball for it to fly in for another Scunthorpe goal this season, Rs bosses are mindful of his no-show on the scorers chart when he was at Southend last season.
