Chesterfield 0-0 Carlisle Colin Larkin missed a glorious late chance to make it two wins out of two for Chesterfield as battling Carlisle held on for a goalless draw.
The striker raced clear six minutes from time but drove his shot against the legs of keeper Kieron Westwood.
It was one of the few clear-cut opportunities of a game that was tense but never boring.
Mark Allott hit the outside of the post for the home side in a frantic finale before Larkin's miss.

Chesterfield 5-1 Millwall Millwall's new-look side were taken apart by Chesterfield who achieved their first home victory since January.
Paul Hall started the rout in the 14th minute after mistakes in the visitors' defence and Wayne Allison scored from close range in the 25th minute.
Caleb Folan ran through unchallenged to score again in the 33rd minute and Hall made it four in the 51st.
Allison got his second after more poor marking, while Kevin Braniff's smart finish was Millwall's only reply.

Spireites glee after thumping win Chesterfield assistant manager Lee Richardson was full of praise for his side after the big win over Millwall.
The Spirietes were 3-0 up at half-time and went on to win 5-1.
He told the club website: \"We got off to a good start and penned Millwall in and they were probably a bit shell-shocked after half an hour.
\"We got after them and closed them down well, and when we had possession we were bright, quick and effective and created numerous chances.\"

Port Vale v Chesterfield Port Vale manager Martin Foyle has an almost fully-fit squad to choose from, with striker Nathan Lowndes (Ankle) the only absentee.

Port Vale 3-2 Chesterfield Leon Constantine's late stunner ensured Port Vale kept up their 100% record.
Chesterfield looked to have secured a point through Caleb Folan's header, but Constantine buried an outstanding 20-yard shot to keep Vale top.
Chesterfield had gone ahead when Aaron Downes headed in Kevan Hurst's corner, but Constantine pulled Vale level with a neat side-foot finish.
Vale made it 2-1 after the break when skipper George Pilkington headed home following Danny Sonner's free-kick.

Chesterfield v Wolves Chesterfield striker Paul Shaw could return from the thigh problem that has kept him out since 9 August.
The Spireites are likely to be missing midfielder Derek Niven who has failed to shrug off a back problem.
Wolves striker Carl Cort will miss out as he completes a three-match ban and Guilherme Finkler is receiving treatment for a hip injury.
But striker Jay Bothroyd could return after missing the weekend victory at Burnley with a calf injury.

McFarland salutes Spireites win Chesterfield boss Roy McFarland feels his side deserved their Carling Cup win over Wolves.
The Spireites won 6-5 on penalties after drawing 0-0 and McFarland said: \"We created a lot of chances and their only chance came right at the end.
\"We looked the better side. We got the ball in the dangerous areas and were not afraid to make them defend.
\"We put ourselves under pressure at times but we have come through and I am proud of the players. They deserve it.\"

Chesterfield seal deal with Kiss Chesterfield are hoping to tie up the signing of former Hungarian international Gyorgy Kiss.
Kiss has been training with the Spireites, who hope to gain international clearance to sign him on an initial monthly contract.
The 31-year-old played for Ferencvaros and Budapesti Vasas and Spireites boss Roy McFarland said: \"He's played at the highest level.
\"We've agreed a monthly contract to give us a chance to fully assess him.\"

Chesterfield 0-2 Tranmere Tranmere moved fourth in the table after claiming victory at Chesterfield.
Rovers took the lead just before half time when Aaron Downes inadvertently diverted Chris Greenacre's shot into his own net from close range.
Gareth Taylor made it 2-0 with a clever lob from 20 yards after John Mullin's pass found him in space on the right.
Chesterfield did not force Rovers keeper Gavin Ward into a save until three minutes from time when he easily caught Phil Picken's 25-yard drive.

Calderwood hails dedicated Harris Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood says Neil Harris' superb goal in the 4-0 win over Chesterfield is just reward for the hard work he has put in.
He said: \"Neil spent last season on loan with Gillingham but told me in the summer that he wanted to give it a real go with Forest and he has done that.

Chesterfield 2-1 Rotherham Rotherham remain rooted to the bottom of League One as Chesterfield got back to winning ways at home.
Caleb Folan opened the scoring with a glancing header after eight minutes only for Will Hoskins to pull the Millers level just two minutes later.

New Seasiders' signing Claus Jorgensen crossed for youngster Simon Gillett to head home after 33 minutes.
