Clingan in Chesterfield loan move Chesterfield have clinched the loan signing of Wolves' Northern Ireland Under-21 midfielder Sammy Clingan.
Spireites boss Roy McFarland failed with a number of cash offers for the 21-year-old earlier this summer, while he was also targeted by Doncaster.
But following a successful loan spell at Saltergate last season, Clingan has sealed a return to the Derbyshire club on loan until January.
He scored twice in 15 appearances for Chesterfield last season.

Chesterfield 3-0 Bournemouth Colin Larkin scored his first goal for Chesterfield and made another as they cruised to victory over Bournemouth.
Larkin gave the Spireites a half-time lead after playing a one-two with Wayne Allison which opened up the defence.
After the break, Larkin then fed Allison, who fired in a well-placed shot after an error by Stephen Cooke.
Home keeper Barry Roche then saved well from James Hayter and Andrew Surman, before Shane Nicholson sealed the win when he fired home a late free-kick.

Spireites and City set new date Chesterfield's League One match with Bristol City at Saltergate on Friday 7 October has been postponed.
The Robins have requested a postponement as they have several players on international duty.
Chesterfield will also have defender Janos Kovacs away on international duty with Hungary.
The fixture has already been re-scheduled and Bristol City will now visit Saltergate on Wednesday 26 October, kick-off at 1930 BST.

Bailey set for Spireites return Chesterfield defender Alex Bailey is poised to make his return from injury against Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday.
The right-back, who has been out since injuring his knee in the opening game of the season, is in contention after coming through two reserve games.
Boss Roy McFarland told the Spireites' website: "It has been frustrating for Alex as he has had the setback of having his knee in pot for a few weeks.
"There is keen competition for places but he is ready should he be needed."

Hurst makes return to Saltergate Chesterfield have re-signed midfielder Kevan Hurst on a three-month loan.
The 20-year-old Sheffield United midfielder spent the first half of this season on loan at Chesterfield, who are his home town club.
He returned at the beginning of January, but will now stay at Saltergate until 22 April.
Spireites boss Roy McFarland told his club's website: "Kevan is capable of giving the side a bit of a buzz, so we are grateful to Sheffield United."

Chesterfield contest Kovacs card Chesterfield have launched an appeal against defender Janos Kovacs' red card in the 4-3 defeat against Southend.
Kovacs, 20, was sent off for deliberate handball by referee Darren Deadman and Freddy Eastwood's resultant penalty set the Shrimpers up for victory.
The club have looked at the match video and have submitted photographic evidence to support their case.
If the appeal is unsuccessful he will be suspended for one match and would miss Saturday's game against Rotherham.

Downes signs new Spireites deal Young Australian defender Aaron Downes has signed a new contract which will keep him at Chesterfield until 2008.
Despite his progress being stalled by an ankle injury Downes, 20, has made 21 first-team appearances since arriving at Saltergate in August 2004.
Boss Roy McFarland told the Spireites website: "He's a youngster with lots of potential and is learning all the time.
"We're delighted he wants to commit his future to Chesterfield and I predict he will only get better."

McFarland wants personal hearing Chesterfield manager Roy McFarland has requested a personal hearing for his Football Association charge.
The Spireites boss was charged for using abusive and/or insulting words towards an official during the home match with Southend on 18 February.
McFarland will be represented by former Chesterfield boss John Duncan who is a League Managers Association official.
McFarland said: "I am delighted that John Duncan will be supporting me in providing crucial evidence."

Tranmere 4-1 Chesterfield Tranmere came from behind at home to Chesterfield as Sam Aiston's brace earned them three valuable points.
Jamie O'Hara's sensational 35-yard volley put the Spireites ahead early on before Rovers levelled when Aiston slotted in Jason McAteer's cross.
Aiston put Tranmere ahead soon after with a cool 20-yard finish, before Chris Greenacre got on the scoresheet when Calvin Zola's shot was saved.
Stephen O'Leary wrapped it up after more good work from Zola.

Chesterfield 1-2 Scunthorpe Scunthorpe banished their relegation fears as they condemned Chesterfield to a fourth straight home defeat.
Colin Larkin put Chesterfield ahead after 15 minutes when he punished a mistake by keeper Paul Musselwhite.
Richard Hinds equalised two minutes after the break when he dived to head home a cross from Michael Rose.

Nicholson has to delay comeback Chesterfield skipper Shane Nicholson is facing at least another month out with his knee injury, as he needs keyhole surgery on his knee cartilage.
The 34-year-old has been sidelined since January, but boss Roy McFarland has not given up hope that he could return before the end of the season.
"It is a disappointing setback for Shane because he has been working hard to recover," McFarland said.
"This latest breakdown will delay his return for another month or so."

Swindon 2-0 Chesterfield Jamie Cureton scored two goals in the second half to help Swindon to victory at the expense of Chesterfield.
Cureton's first came after Spireites keeper Robert Beckwith fumbled Trevor Benjamin's effort and he was on hand to finish with his thigh.
Cureton scored his second after latching on to Gareth Whalley's through ball to finish past Beckwith with the outside of his right foot.
Benjamin missed two good chances in the first half.

Nicholson admitted to hospital Chesterfield's Shane Nicholson has been admitted to hospital with an infection in his knee and leg following a routine cartilage operation.
The Spireites skipper suffered the infection after undergoing keyhole surgery and is now on a drip and a course of antibiotics.
Chesterfield boss Roy McFarland said: "He is in hospital as a precaution more than anything else."
Nicholson is expected to miss the rest of the season as a result.

Spireites manager handed FA fine Chesterfield manager Roy McFarland has been fined £650 by the Football Association for his misconduct charge - but escaped a touchline ban.
McFarland was charged for using abusive and/or insulting words towards fourth official Gary Mellor during the home match with Southend on 18 February.
He was also warned about his future conduct by the FA.
"The tribunal seems to have taken on board our concerns about how the incident arose," McFarland said.
