Wycombe 1-0 Chester
Kevin Betsy bagged the only goal of the game as Wycombe saw off Chester to record their fourth successive win. Wycombe had already been reduced to 10 men with Anthony Grant sent off for two bookings, a second dismissal this term. Boston target Vaughan loan deal
Boston United boss Steve Evans wants to sign Chester City midfielder Stephen Vaughan on loan to bolster his squad. Evans targeted Vaughan after facing the prospect of having just 14 fit players for Tuesday night's game at Barnet. Evans told Boston's website: \"I spoke to Chester City on Sunday and we will see where it goes. \"If the loan deal goes ahead and Stephen does well we will certainly look to make it permanent because he is good in a number of positions.\"

Chester v Notts County
Alan White and Matt Somner return for Notts County after one-match suspensions, placing Stephen Hunt's and Ian Ross's places under threat. Midfielder Tom Curtis could also return after recovering from a back injury which kept him out for three games. Chester will be without striker Jon Walters, who picked up an ankle injury in the defeat at Wycombe. Dean Bennett still has a back problem, defender Phil Bolland (shoulder) and midfielder Glenn Cronin (foot) are out.

Boston fail to land Chester man
Boston have failed in their loan bid for Chester full-back Stephen Vaughan. Pilgrims boss Steve Evans wanted to sign the 21-year-old City skipper to cover for an injury crisis. Vaughan told Chester's website: \"I am Chester City through and through. I want to be a part of the progress we will make this season. \"While the results in the last few games haven't gone for us, when this new squad gels it will be a force to be reckoned with.\"

Dudfield sliced wide from close range on 19 minutes and headed over when unmarked after 41 minutes. Chester v Grimsby
Chester have a doubt over striker Jon Walters (ankle) and midfielder Dean Bennett is doubtful with a back injury. But wing-back Kevin Sandwith, who has recently returned after hamstring trouble, could be back in the side after he was on the bench in midweek. Grimsby expect to have teenage striker Peter Bore available despite going off at half-time at Rochdale in midweek because of an Achilles injury. Ciaran Toner also took a knock at Rochdale but hopes to be fit.

Rochdale 0-0 Chester
Rochdale and Chester cancelled each other out in a dour draw at Spotland. Morike Sako wasted a host of chances for Rochdale after the break, first he shot straight at Chester keeper Jon Danby and then fired into the netting. Substitute Clive Moyo-Modise failed to end the home side's frustration when his late effort was blocked. Chester 2-1 Hartlepool
Chester fought back from a goal down to beat Hartlepool, who suffered from having Jon Daly sent off on 17 minutes. Pools had taken the lead on only nine minutes when Joel Porter fired the ball low past John Danby from 12 yards out. But then Matty Robson was forced off injured and Daly saw red after making a violent challenge on David Artell. Pools' keeper Dimitrios Konstantopoulos gifted Ashley Westwood an equaliser on 45 minutes and he later fumbled again and Jonathan Walters hit the winner.

Chester target Steele and Willock
Chester City boss Mark Wright has identified Leyton Orient's Lee Steele and Callum Willock of Brentford as potential striking targets. Wright is hopeful of pursuing a deal with at least one of the players in the next few days as he looks to increase his side's goal output. Steele, 32, has been at Orient since May 2004, following earlier spells with Shrewsbury, Brighton and Oxford. Ex-Fulham man Willock, 24, previously played under Wright at Peterborough. He moved to Brentford in January, and has scored three times in 25 appearances for the Bees - which have mostly come from the substitutes' bench. Steele helped the O's to promotion from League Two last season, and has already found the net four times this season.

Keith Briggs (thigh) is a doubt. Adam Griffin, Michael Raynes and Adam Proudlock remain sidelined.
