Cheltenham transfer list Brown
Cheltenham Town goalkeeper Scott Brown has been transfer listed by the club. Brown, 22, has been made available for a permanent or loan move following talks with manager John Ward. Ward told his club's website: "Scott has had a taste of first-team football over the last couple of years and now he wants that on a regular basis." Brown, who has started a dozen games for the Robins, did not even make the bench for Cheltenham's opening day win over Gillingham.

Cheltenham retain Myrie-Williams
Bristol City striker Jennison Myrie-Williams is staying on loan with Cheltenham for a second month. The 19-year-old has made four appearances so far this season and will stay at Whaddon Road until 6 October. Robins boss Gary Johnson told his club website: "I'm really pleased that Jennison will be staying with us. "In the last two or three games he has started to show his tremendous pace and ability on the ball."

Cheltenham extend Wright contract
Veteran Cheltenham Town defender Alan Wright has extended his stay with the club until the end of the season. Wright, who moved to Whaddon Road as a free agent on non-contract terms in October, concluded talks on a six-month contract over the weekend. The much-travelled 36-year-old has made seven appearances for the Robins so far, scoring once. "If I can lend my experience to some of the younger squad members, everybody wins," he told Town's website. "The work ethic at this club is superb - that's what attracted me here and I'm enjoying my football at the moment."

Boss Downing rues poor finishing
Boss Keith Downing felt Cheltenham did not make the most of their chances in the 4-1 defeat against Brighton in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy quarter-final. Downing said: "We committed ourselves going forward at the end and got caught with two sucker punches in the last couple of minutes to make it 4-1. "They had chances and so did we but the difference was that Brighton took their opportunities when they came along. "There were only one or two decent individual performances from us."

Cheltenham chief wants new faces
Cheltenham boss Keith Downing hopes to add to his squad ahead of Thursday's deadline for loan transfers. Downing, whose side lost 2-1 in an FA Cup first-round replay at Brighton on Tuesday, said: "I'm looking at wide areas and up front. "I'm hoping to get one or two players in to make it a bit more competitive for the boys and freshen things up. "We're disappointed about the Brighton result but given the players we had unavailable, we gave it a good go."

Cheltenham recruit Blackpool man
Cheltenham signed Blackpool winger Michael D'Agostino on loan just before Thursday's Football League deadline for loan signings. The 20-year-old Canada Under-20 international moves to Whaddon Road following a busy week of loan deals. The Robins previously recruited Crawley striker Guy Madjo, while allowing defender Lee Ridley to join Darlington. "Michael is a player with good pace who likes to take people on," boss Keith Downing told Cheltenham's website. "Blackpool have let him join us to get some regular football and they believe he will do a good job in League One."

Downing thrilled to see off Leeds
Cheltenham boss Keith Downing was overjoyed after his side beat Leeds 1-0 at Whaddon Road on Sunday - his first league victory as Robins manager. "This is a fantastic result for everybody associated with Cheltenham Town," Downing enthused. "I'm so pleased for the players - their belief and work-rate throughout this difficult period. We've had our critics but have never lost self-belief. "I just hope this will kick-start our season and get us back up the league."

Downing rues missed opportunities
Cheltenham boss Keith Downing felt his side could easily have snatched a draw against high-flying Leyton Orient. "The game was very even," he told SSB after the 2-0 loss at Brisbane Road. "We did reasonably well without getting the result. "We had one or two good opportunites prior to them getting the second goal but it's small dividing lines from a top-six side to a bottom-six side. "It's about taking opportunites - they've done that and we haven't."

Cheltenham display angers Downing
Cheltenham Town boss Keith Downing admitted his side got what they deserved as they lost 2-0 at home to Huddersfield Town on Saturday. Downing told SSB: "From start to finish we were second best with and without the ball. "We had put in two really solid home performances but we were devoid of quality for whatever reason. "We lacked movement and never got any momentum on the Huddersfield goal. Too many individuals just didn't play."

Cheltenham up bid for Fleetwood
Cheltenham Town have increased their offer for highly-rated Forest Green Rovers striker Stuart Fleetwood. The Robins made an offer of £100,000 for the 21-year-old in November but it was turned down. Cheltenham chairman Paul Baker told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "We made an improved six-figure offer but we've put a seven-day notice on it. "If the player is not going to come or the club's not interested in selling then we have to move on," he added. There is a lot of interest in Fleetwood, who has netted 30 goals in all competitions this season, from a number of clubs, with Gillingham the latest to table an offer in excess of £100,000. But Cheltenham manager Keith Downing is keen that the club do not get caught up in a bidding war. "What's important is that we don't get involved in an auction," he said. "I sat there (at Forest Green Rovers' recent match at Kidderminster) with about eight other scouts and, no disrespect to Cheltenham, some of them were from much bigger clubs. "So we have to be careful but we are interested in him. He's been terrific for Forest Green Rovers and he's a local lad so it would be silly not to be interested in him."

Cheltenham complete double swoop
Cheltenham Town have completed the loan signings of Bristol City duo Steve Brooker and Alex Russell. Striker Brooker and midfielder Russell will spend a month at Whaddon Road and are expected to make their debuts in Saturday's clash with Bournemouth. Cheltenham boss Keith Downing told the club's website: "I'm delighted to get these loan deals finalised. "Both players will add some valuable quality and experience to the squad," he added. "Both players are proven at League One level and both had a big influence on Bristol City getting promoted last season. "They will go into the squad for the Bournemouth game and we'll go on from there."

Armstrong re-signs for Cheltenham
Cheltenham Town have re-signed utility player Craig Armstrong following his departure from Gillingham. Armstrong, who was released by the Gills last week, has signed a deal with the Robins until the end of the season. The 32-year-old made almost 100 appearances for Cheltenham before joining Gillingham last summer. "There will be no problem with him settling in. He is a man of great experience who will be a good asset," boss Keith Downing told Town's website.

Armstrong re-signs for Cheltenham
Craig Armstrong says he hopes to earn an extended deal with Cheltenham Town after agreeing to re-join the Robins. The utility player signed to stay at Whaddon Road until the end of the season after leaving Gillingham. "It's up to me to try and force myself back in the side and earn a long-term contract," the 32-year-old told SSB. "I'm hoping that I can come in and add my experience to the side and hopefully stay in League One again." Armstrong spent two years at Whaddon Road and only left last summer to join Gillingham but fell out of favour at the Kent side and was released by them last week.

Downing fury at 'inept' display
Cheltenham Town boss Keith Downing branded his side "inept" after seeing them beaten 2-1 away at Yeovil. "There was an opportunity here against a side that has lost form," he said. "I'm really disappointed with the first half - it was totally inept. "We were second best physically more than mentally. We got bumped off the ball too many times and I didn't see enough competitiveness about us. "That's normally not like us but it's creeping into our play."

A win will keep us up - Downing
Cheltenham Town manager Keith Downing is refusing to panic after Saturday's defeat at home to Walsall left the Robins four points clear of relegation. "It's still four points, and now instead of four games, it's three," Downing told SSB. "Gillingham have got to win two games out of that three because of their inferior goal difference. "We've got to make to make sure we get that elusive one win and I think one win will see us through." Downing is adamant that Cheltenham must keep their fate in their own hands rather than relying on results elsewhere to preserve their League One status. "All you can do is really analyse and work with your own team," he said. "We've got a tough game against Crewe, everyone will look at that and say it's a must-win game, but there's still two more after that."
