Cambridge boss eyes new signings Cambridge United manager Rob Newman wants to bring in four players to bolster his squad for the second half of the season.
The U's boss has already released Darren Behcet and Matt Nolan in order to raise funds for new signings.
Newman told Sir Stanley: "We have the nucleus of a good squad already but we need to strengthen.
"We'll be getting three or four new bodies in because we need to improve our decision making on the pitch."

Newman proud of beaten Cambridge Cambridge boss Rob Newman insisted he was proud of his side after they lost 1-0 at Conference leaders Accrington.
"We had a good first hald, but we had to score from the chances we created," the U's manager said.
"Craig Westcarr might have got something if he'd gone down when he was pushed, but he stayed on his feet and tried to keep going.
"Maybe he's too honest. I'm not saying I want them to con anyone, but if he'd gone down he might have got something."

Wolleaston seals Cambridge move Cambridge United have former Oxford midfielder Rob Wolleaston.
The 26-year-old has agreed non-contract terms at the Abbey Stadium following his departure from Oxford in October.
Wolleaston, who started his career at Chelsea, signed in time to make his debut in Cambridge's defeat at Altrincham on Saturday.
Meanwhile, U's boss Rob Newman has released defender David Chick, 25, following six Conference appearances earlier this season.

Bridges secures England call-up Cambridge United midfielder David Bridges has been called up to England's National Game squad following a freak injury to Tamworth's Dave Bampton.
Bampton has pulled out of Wednesday's European Trophy tie against Italy after a set of weights fell onto his foot.
That means Bridges, 23, could make his international debut on his home ground, the Abbey Stadium, after joining Paul Fairclough's 16-man squad on Tuesday.
England beat Belgium in their opening game in the new round-robin tournament.

Cambridge target Lincoln defender Cambridge United manager Rob Newman is lining up a potential loan move for Lincoln City defender Matt Bloomer.
Bloomer was due to play in a friendly for the U's on Monday with a view to a loan switch to the Abbey Stadium.
The 27-year-old has not featured for Lincoln since the end of December and recently completed a temporary spell with Grimsby Town.
Newman was also planning to use the friendly game at Boston to take a look at Bolton goalkeeper Sam Ashton, 19.

Imps defender Bloomer joining U's Cambridge United have agreed a loan move for Lincoln defender Matt Bloomer after he impressed in a friendly.
The 27-year-old will join the U's for an initial month's stay with a view to a potential longer-term move.
"If Matt isn't offered anything at Lincoln then he might be a key player for us next season as well," boss Rob Newman told Cambridge's website.
Bloomer has not played for Lincoln since December and recently spent a month on loan at Grimsby.

Newman backs Tamworth to stay up Cambridge United boss Rob Newman is backing Tamworth to avoid relegation from the Conference, after the sides drew 1-1 at The Lamb.
"There was no way on that performance that they're a team that deserves to be near the bottom," Newman said.
"If they show that spirit week in, week out for the rest of the season, I'm sure (Lambs boss) Mark Cooper will be seeing his team in mid-table.
"Although it would have been nicer to win, I'm pleased with the point."

Cambridge 1-1 Halifax John Grant cemented Halifax's hopes of a play-off place when he fired home an equaliser with only six minutes left.
Cambridge led after 34 seconds when Jon Brady sent in a cross from the left and Craig Westcarr was ideally placed to head home from six yards.
Halifax responded, with Ryan Sugden and Greg Young testing Cambridge keeper Scott Howie as the pressure mounted.
Justin Bowler hit the post for Halifax seconds after the break before Grant got his reward with a late leveller.

U's boss Newman happy with point Rob Newman was content for his Cambridge United side to take a point off an in-form Halifax outfit as they shared a 1-1 draw at the Abbey Stadium.
The U's boss said: "We've gone out there and for 80 minutes we've more than matched them.
"But you've got to give credit to Halifax because they put us under a bit of pressure in the second half.
"I thought we defended excellently and it took a great strike from their substitute to equalise."

U's boss rues lack of discipline Cambridge boss Rob Newman was unhappy with the discipline shown by his side in their 1-0 loss at Crawley.
Newman said: "We came here on the back of four decent results and expecting to get something out of the game.
"I don't think we showed enough responsibility and discipline out there to deal with Crawley's threat.
"I wanted to carry on with the run and performances we've been getting, but this shows that there is a lot to be changed for next season."

Cambridge mourn former star Crowe Cambridge United are mourning their former inside forward Len Crowe, who has died at the age of 77.
Born in Farnborough, he had a spell on the books of Crystal Palace and also played for several Army sides.
He was one of the first players to sign for the U's in 1951 as they entered the Eastern Counties League, after they changed their name from Abbey United.
He scored 29 goals in 131 league and cup appearances for Cambridge between 1951 and 1955.

Cambridge boss handed cash boost Cambridge United boss Rob Newman will have more to spend next term thanks to Reading's promotion to the Premiership.
Reading's success triggers a further clause in the deal which took striker Dave Kitson from the U's to the Royals.
"The intention is that part of the additional fee will be available to the manager as part of an enhanced budget," said finance director Nick Pomery.
Reading paid £150,000 in December 2003 for Kitson, with various clauses in the deal now pushing the fee to £350,000.

Cambridge Utd 2-2 Morecambe Steve Smith's 20-yard drive denied play-off chasing Morecambe maximum points at the Abbey Stadium.
Smith fired low into the bottom corner just after Danny Carlton's 30-yard effort had put the visitors ahead.
Cambridge midfielder Jon Brady had opened the scoring with a long-range low free-kick after Ged Brannan fouled Fola Onibuje.

Newman hails Cambridge resilience Cambridge United boss Rob Newman praised his players for overcoming an injury to defender Adam Davies to go on and beat Exeter City 2-1 on Tuesday.
Davies was treated on the pitch for more than 15 minutes before going to hospital after a ball in the throat left him with breathing difficulties.
"You could see some hesitation in our play after that," said Newman.
"It was hard to come out again and I'm so pleased that they've got the result for themselves and for Adam as well."
