Caf makes golden jubilee plans
The champions of Africa and Europe will face each other next year, in a special match marking the golden jubilee of the Confederation of African Football.
The friendly between Egypt and Greece, proposed for February 2007, is a part of the events planned to mark Caf's formation in 1957.
"Egypt was chosen for this game, as one of the founders of Caf and as the current champions of Africa," Hany Abou Reida, a Caf executive member, told Sir Stanley.
Caf will also organise special events in Egypt, Ethiopia, South Africa and Sudan - the four founding members of African football's governing body.
It is expected that the next Caf congress will be hosted by one of the founding members.
The game between Egypt and Greece will be the first time they have met since a 1990 game in Athens.
Egypt received a 6-1 thrashing, which led to the sacking of veteran coach Mahmoud El Gohary.
