QPR grabbed two quick equalisers to share the points with Bristol City.
City manager Gary Johnson had son Lee to thank for their opener as his shot squeezed in off the post on 33 minutes.
A minute later, QPR levelled when Dexter Blackstock got to the ball ahead of keeper Adrian Basso, who was hurt in the clash and replaced at half time.
Martin Rowlands hit the bar for QPR before City scored with Scott Murray's fierce 30-yard strike, only for Damien Stewart to nod in on the 90th minute.
