Brighton sign striker Fleetwood
Brighton have signed Charlton Athletic striker Stuart Fleetwood on loan until 6 December. Fleetwood was the top scorer in the Blue Square Premier last season for Forest Green before moving to The Valley in the summer. The 22-year-old has just completed a loan spell at Cheltenham, when he scored two goals in seven appearances. Manager Micky Adams said: "Stuart is someone we have tracked for a while and has a decent goalscoring record."

Birchall wants Seagulls contract
Brighton trialist Chris Birchall is hoping his old boss Micky Adams can sign him again. The 24-year-old, who left Coventry by mutual consent this month, has been training with the Albion squad and also played 90 minutes for the reserves. The Trinidad & Tobago midfielder told the Argus: "I am just waiting to see if Micky Adams wants me to stay. "There is nothing more that I want at the moment. He knows I want to stay, I don’t want to go anywhere else." Birchall was on loan at Carlisle last month and looked set for a move to the United States. The Stafford-born midfielder said: "I have an option on the table in America but that is something I don't really want to do at this stage of my career. I'd rather stay in England. "I've played under him before at Coventry after he signed me from Port Vale. I like his man-management, I like coming into training every day and that is something I haven't felt for a couple of years since Micky left Coventry."

Jarrett set for Brighton switch
Brighton are set to sign out-of-favour Preston midfielder Jason Jarrett on a free transfer. The 29-year-old, who has made only three appearances for North End this season, is expected to sign a deal until the end of the season. Brighton boss Micky Adams told the club website: "I am sure Jason will prove an important addition. "He can add another dimension to our midfield while bringing some experience to the squad." Jarrett joined Preston on a free transfer from Norwich in June 2006 and spent the second half of last season on loan at Oldham. After coming through the ranks at Blackpool he has also had spells at Wrexham, Bury, Wigan, Stoke, Plymouth, Hull, Leicester and QPR. Meanwhile, former Brighton winger Seb Carole is back at the club on a week's trial. The Frenchman, 26, left to join Leeds in 2006 but was released by the Elland Road club last August. Most recently he had a spell at Darlington, between December and January.

Adams insists he will not resign
Brighton & Hove Albion manager Micky Adams says he has no plans to resign despite speculation about his future. He told Southern Counties Radio: "I'm not resigning. People can write and speculate as much as they want but I am here to stay." Adams denied there were crisis talks with the board after the defeat by Luton in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. "What I actually said was I was sure I would be speaking to them. That's part and parcel of being a manager." He added: "You invariably speak to chairmen and various members of the board after games. "That applied after Tuesday's game so that's no different to what I would normally do anyway." Adams took charge of Brighton for the second time in May 2008, having led the club to the old Third Division title during his first spell in charge from 1999 to 2001.

Seagulls swoop for striker Owusu
Brighton have signed Lloyd Owusu from fellow League One strugglers Cheltenham on loan until the end of the season. The 32-year-old Ghana striker only joined the Robins in August but has been forced to move on because of the financial situation at Cheltenham. Boss Martin Allen is loathe to lose an experienced campaigner who has scored eight goals for Town, but chairman Paul Baker over-ruled the manager. Baker said: "We have to be a lean, mean machine and fighting fit next season."
